Supermacs Competition Winner

Megan Warren from Third Class (Ms. Caslin's room) recently won the Supermacs colouring competition. The prize allowed Megan to bring all of her class to Supermacs where they got to make their own pizzas. They had great fun and the pizzas were yummy!

SEAI Workshop

Lisa from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) visited Mrs. Dooner's 1st class and  Ms. Parker's 4th Class on Thursday 21st of March. The children enjoyed this workshop immensely and particularly enjoyed doing a variety if experiments.

The Brian Column memorial Chess Tournament

The Brian Column memorial Chess Tournament took place in the Complex on Friday March 9th. Children from our school along with over 480 children from surrounding counties took part. The children really enjoyed the day and did their school proud with some fantastic performances.

World Book Day 2018

Due to the snowy weather we had to postpone our World Book Day celebrations by a week. Well done to all the boys and girls (and teachers too!) who dressed up as well known characters from books for World Book Day. We had lots of fun! 4th Class Perform in the RDS

In February, the 4th class boys and girls performed in the RDS as part of the Peace Proms Choir which was made up of over 2000 children from all around Ireland. They were accompanied by the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland. We would like to thank Mrs. O'Rourke, Ms. Parker, Mr Burke and Mrs. Sutherland and all of the parents who made it all possible. Author Alan Nolan visited 3rd&4th Class on World Book Day

Irish Author Alan Nolan visited 3rd and 4th class on World Book Day. Having read many of his books,the children of Scoil Mhuire were so excited about the author's visit. Alan spoke to the children about his writing career and answered many of the children's questions. We now have some budding authors who are starting on their own stories ... so watch this space! This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all of the children and we would like to thank Alan for visiting us!

National Day of Prayer for Children

Friday, 14th of October was the National Day of Prayer for Children. The children from second, third and fourth classes gathered in the school hall for a prayer service to mark the occasion. Second class sang some hymns from their Religious programme. Pupils from third class carried candles representing children from all the continents and read the story from the Bible, 'The Widow Gave All She Had". Fourth class pupils then read some prayers.
